Highway 75 crash sends one person to the hospital

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A man is hospitalized after his pick-up collided with a semi Monday afternoon.  It happened around 1:30 on Highway 75 South, near the Gordon Drive exit.

Authorities say this (Watch the Video) semi-trailer driven by 62-year-old Carlos Yon of Miramar, Florida was stopped on the shoulder for a mechanical problem, when it was hit from behind by a pick-up headed south.

The driver of the pick-up was 38-year-old Jeffrey Hamman of Sioux City.

Hammon was transported to Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center, with what authorities are saying are possible minor injuries.

Traffic was blocked off for a short time and then reduced to one lane while authorities could get the crash cleaned up.

Hammon was cited for failure to maintain control.
