LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - State auditor Mike Foley says he'll investigate the Antelope Valley Project, the largest road-construction project in Lincoln history.
Foley says his office has heard from several residents concerned about how money for the 6-year-old project is being handled.
The $264 million undertaking is meant to reduce flooding in downtown Lincoln. It includes six miles of roads, 12 street bridges, three rail bridges and three pedestrian bridges. Completion is slated for completion 2011.
Foley says he expects the audit to take about six months, and he's asked the group that oversees the project to foot half of the $100,000 cost of the audit.
