Fifth-grade teacher from Omaha gets national award

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A fifth-grade teacher from Omaha has been named Nebraska's Milken national educator for 2008.

Crystal Simpson is a teacher and instructional facilitator at Fontenelle Elementary School in Omaha.

She'll get a $25,000 check from the Milken Family Foundation during a national conference in Los Angeles on Friday.

The Milken Family Foundation rewards the nation's best elementary educators.
