LOUP CITY, Neb. (AP) - A Grand Island couple has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a Loup City woman at gunpoint and tying her to a tree.
The Sherman County sheriff's office says the 19-year-old woman was able to escape and led authorities to her abductors.
Christopher Mueller, 23, and Lisa Punteney, 19, were being held Friday in the Hall County jail on suspicion of kidnapping and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Punteney is also suspected of making terroristic threats.
The sheriff's office says the woman knew the couple and got into a car with them about 1 a.m. Thursday. Then, a gun was put to her head and her hands were bound. She was driven to an area southeast of Loup City, where she was tied to a tree.
