BLUNT, S.D. (AP) - Organizers say a celebration is planned for the 125th anniversary of the town of Blunt in Hughes County.
A parade, train ride, cake and ice cream social, community church service and other events are on the schedule for June 27-28.
Blunt was named for a railway engineer, John E. Blunt, and was incorporated under Dakota Territory laws on July 29, 1884. Historial records say Blunt's population was 1,000 in its early months.
