OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A northeast Nebraska man who vanished with his wife and children after being questioned on domestic-abuse allegations has pleaded no contest to violating the terms of his probation.
The Pierce County Attorney's Office said Thursday the terms violated by Matthew Schade include stealing a truck and having a gun. Schade previously denied stealing the Silver City, S.D., volunteer fire department vehicle.
Sentencing is set for June 25.
Schade and his wife Rowena left their Creighton home in March and headed to South Dakota fearing they'd lose custody of their children. They turned themselves in 18 days later.
Rowena Schade was sentenced Thursday to an additional year of probation and ordered to serve 180 days in jail for violating her probation.
