PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Taxes are going up or changing in seven South Dakota cities on July 1.
The Department of Revenue and Regulation says Big Stone City, Bonesteel and Estelline are increasing their general sales and use tax rate from 1% to 2%.
Eagle Butte is imposing a 2% general sales and use tax rate and a 1% gross receipts tax on restaurants, lodging and ticket sales and admissions to places of amusement or athletic and cultural events. Elk Point will add a 1% tax on bed, board and booze.
Mission's general sales and use tax rate goes from 1.75% to 2%.
And Mobridge is extending its 1% gross receipts tax on alcoholic beverages, eating establishments and lodging accommodations until June 30, 2014.
