DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A former Muscatine County judge has pleaded guilty to his third drunken driving charge.

According to court records, James Weaver, of Blue Grass, pleaded guilty on June 3. Sentencing is set for Aug. 6.

Weaver was arrested in March in Scott County. The Iowa State Patrol says when he arrived at the jail his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit for driving.

Weaver was first arrested for OWI in November 2002, then again in November 2004. He pleaded guilty both times.

Weaver served as an associate judge from 1982 to 2004.

A third drunken driving offense carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500.
