GIBBON, Neb. (AP) - The National Weather Service says at least two tornadoes left damage behind in eastern Buffalo County.
On Thursday, the service's assessment teams surveyed evidence from Wednesday evening's storms.
The strongest tornado was rated EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with winds between 86 and 110 mph. The Weather Service say the twister ran for a mile and a half. It damaged at least two farmsteads about nine miles north and two miles west of Gibbon.
The second tornado was rated EF0 on the scale, with winds between 65 and 85 mph. The Weather Service says that twister was on the ground only about a minute and left behind minor crop and tree damage.
The tornado that struck west of Aurora Wednesday night was rated EF2, with winds between 111 and 135 mph.
