YORK, Neb. (AP) - York officials say hail and heavy rain from a severe thunderstorm damaged cars and crops in the area.
York public works director Mark Christensen says golf ball-size hail fell south of York on Monday.
National Weather Service spotters reported inch-diameter hail southeast of Seward and north of Milford.
Christensen also says nearly an inch of rain fell in about a half hour.
Tim Bunn at Moses Ford dealership near York says the hail dented more than five dozen new and used cars on his lot.
Crop damage was reported from winds and hail in several areas, including near Goehner in Seward county.
