SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -- A $100,000 donation from one Siouxland business will make summer more fun for area children. Officials at the Norm Waitt Senior YMCA opened their new Cargill Technology Center today.
It's been more than a year since the new Y in South Sioux was built, and thanks to a donation from Cargill, officials were able to add new computers which is part of the youth center.
Kids taking part in the Y's summer day camps will be able to take advantage of learning through technology
"It's a great addition because a lot of times people think of us because we have this incredible health facility, two pools and that sort of thing. They forget that the Y does other things as well like serving the youth in the community," said CEO Kevin Engel-Cartie.
Engel-Cartie says the Siouxland Y will soon start classes for senior members who want to learn all about computers.
