ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV) - Each year thousands flock to the Iowa Great Lakes to soak in some sun, take the boat out for a spin and of course take a ride at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
The park prides itself on that old timey feel it gives to each guest every year, but this year is a special one.
"We're just celebrating a hundred 20 days of fun," said Jeanne Sieh, Arnolds Park
But this tourism season is especially important because those 120 days will take place during the Amuesment Park's 120th year in business.
"A hundred and 20 years of the best fun under the Iowa sun," said Sieh.
The Amusement Park has been a huge draw for the region since it opened. Each year they welcome more than 250 thousand guests to ride the rides.
The park has a little bit of everything, whether it's a calm train ride, or a cooling splash on the parks only water ride, the log flume. But everyone seems to enjoy the parks oldest ride, rolling in at 82-years-old.
"Our favorite ride, the one that has the most ridership is probably our legend roller coaster," said Sieh.
The coaster will give you a scream as it whips you around the park...it's one of the few functioning coasters like it in the country.
Even if all you're looking for is a place to sit, or a chance to catch a beautiful view from the top of the Ferris wheel, Arnold's Park has something for everyone.
"We just have something exciting everyday," said Sieh.
A tradition they hope to continue for another 120 years.
Arnold's Park says it's one of the longest running amusement parks in the world.Comments Terms of Use: We welcome your participation in our community. Please keep your comments civil and on point. You must be at least 13 years of age to post comments. By submitting a comment, you agree to these
