LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A 25-year-old inmate who strangled the girl who bore his child has sued a drug company, alleging the antidepressant he was taking led to his losing control.
Randall Robbins II killed Brittany Eurek in 2002 when they were 17.
He is suing Pfizer Inc., which makes Zoloft, and the doctor who prescribed it for him.
Robbins wants $2 million each from Pfizer and his doctor for emotional distress and physical pain and $1 million from each for every year he spends in prison.
In the lawsuit Robbins filed Tuesday, he says Pfizer did not warn him of Zoloft's side effects.
He says Zoloft increased his suicidal desires and irritability and lowered his self-control.
An Associated Press call to a Pfizer representative was not immediately returned Friday.
