HURON, S.D. (AP) - A strong thunderstorm caused damage in the Wolsey area of east central South Dakota late Friday night.
Wind gusting to an estimated 70 miles an hour downed trees, including a 40-foot-tall spruce tree. Power was knocked out in the whole town.
Beadle County Emergency Management Director Tom Moeding says Northwestern Public Service was on the scene early Saturday to restore power.
Power also was out for a short time in part of Huron.
