ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV) - CasinOmaha, in Onawa, Iowa, has decided to close its doors and suspend operations.
The casino, which employs 180 people, is closed to reorganize. Casino General Manager Jim Hunt says that the casino is closing partially due to the economy, but also says poor management played a role.
Hunt says he was brought in six weeks ago to try and fix things at the Omaha Tribe owned casino, but determined the best thing was to close.
Hunt expects the casino to reopen, at which time they will hire 100 people.
A public forum is being held in Macy, Neb. to discuss what will happen.
