IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Science fiction fans are in luck.
The University of Iowa Libraries in Iowa City has acquired a collection of about 3,000 science fiction so-called fanzines.
They are fan-created magazines focused. Most of the thousands of pieces in the Marielle (Ming) Wathne Fanzine Archive Collection focus on science fiction staples like "Star Trek" and "Star Wars."
Greg Prickman is the assistant head of UI's special collections. He says there's a lot of scholarly interest in fanzines.
