FAYETTE, Iowa (AP) - Upper Iowa University plans to partner with the city of Fayette to sell $31 million in private college facility revenue bonds.
The revenue will fund a student center, bookstore, study lounge and computer lab. There will also be a new liberal arts building and student housing.
University Chief Financial Officer Don Aungst says the construction will employ up to 120 workers. The college says it expects to make 16 new hires per year once the expansion project is under way.
Upper Iowa's enrollment last fall was 820.
