AVON, S.D. (AP) - A pair of towers have been installed near Avon in southeast South Dakota to see if the area is suitable for a wind farm.
The towers will collect measurements of wind speed and direction for two or three years for B&H Wind of Avon.
B&H vice president Bruce Voight says the area has wind potential and is close to electric transmission lines.
Information collected by the towers will be used to determine how many wind turbines could be installed.
