OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison for assaulting a man on the Santee Indian Reservation in northeast Nebraska in November 2008.
Logan Tyronne Saul of Niobrara also must pay restitution of $4,800.
U.S. Attorney Joe Stecher said Monday that Saul was among a group of men who entered the victim's house and attacked him without provocation.
After the victim was dragged from his bedroom to the living room, Saul began to beat, kick and stab him. Others who came into the house left when Saul began the attack.
Saul told people afterward that he thought he had killed the victim. The victim suffered serious wounds to his chest, face and back.
