BOWMAN, N.D. (AP) - Bikers headed to their annual rally in Sturgis, S.D., make stops along the way. In southwestern North Dakota, the town of Bowman has been happy to see them.
The director of the area's economic development group, Ashley Anderson, says welcome signs are out.
Anderson says motorcycles have lined Bowman's Main Street over the past week. Restaurants and service stations report more business.
Saskatchewan biker Ron Capnerhurst says he usually makes a stop about every 70 miles.
Becky Brooks, who manages a service station in Bowman, says she has extra staff for the bikers.
Bowman Kum & Go Manager Julie Green says her store sees at about 100 bikers a day. She says cooler weather this year had many of them stopping in just to warm up.
She says it's good for business and good for the community.
