
GEORGE, Iowa (KTIV) - The Lyon County Sheriff's Department has arrested a George, Iowa man after discovering a marijuana grow operation and items used to manufacture methamphetamine in his house.
According to the sheriff's department, 32-year-old Casey Roberts faces multiple charges including manufacturing a controlled substance for marijuana and meth, as well as felony child endangerment.
A press release from the Sheriff's department says that on Saturday, they served a search warrant at 414 West Minnesota Ave in George, Iowa. Officers discovered marijuana, heat lamps, pots and timers in the basement of the house Roberts was renting. In an attached garage, they found items used for manufacturing meth.
The Lyon County Clandestine Lab team was called to identify and handle those chemicals and equipment.
The sheriff's department also determined that Robert's nine-month-old daughter was living there and filed additional charges of 'knowingly permitting a minor child to reside in a house where methamphetamine producing materials are kept.'
