OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A Vermont woman is set to stand trial in Omaha on federal charges of health care fraud, more than two years after she was indicted.
Sharon Johnson of West Dover is accused of conspiring with an Iowa woman who worked for Mutual of Omaha to submit claims of nonexistent medical expenses. Authorities said that resulted in nearly $1.4 million in payments to Johnson. In return, she gave Lenagh $95,600.
According to court records, Johnson was charged with health care fraud, mail fraud, forfeiture and conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
Johnson's trial is set for Dec. 7.
Lenagh, of Neola, was sentenced in January to two years in prison. She had pleaded guilty last October.
