PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Kadoka is the latest South Dakota school district to move to 4-day school weeks.
Kadoka Area School District Superintendent Mary Austad says it's a bit early to judge the success of the 4-day schedule, but students seemed pleased to be able to start their weekends a day early.
Austad says the calendar change was not overwhelmingly supported, and there are still some who would still like to have a Monday-through-Friday school week.
She says she would like to see the 4-day week concept continue for a few years before a decision is made on its success.
