BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - A Kansas man who had escaped briefly from a Gage County deputy has pleaded guilty and faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced next month.
Court documents say 21-year-old Terrance Privett of Holmes, Kan., pleaded guilty to a felony escape charge and a misdemeanor drunken-driving charge.
Privett was stopped by Deputy Kristin Patsch on July 4 and arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. He was handcuffed and taken to Beatrice Community Hospital for a blood test.
He got away from the deputy when they returned to the patrol car after the blood test. Privett was found about four hours later in a nearby house.
Privett's sentencing is set for Nov. 18.
