OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The Fulbright Program has named Creighton University in Omaha to its list of colleges and universities that produced the most 2009-2010 U.S. Fulbright Fellows.
Creighton is 1 of only three Nebraska universities and a handful of Jesuit, Catholic higher education institutions to be recognized.
Creighton's percentage of applicants actually awarded fellowships compared to the number of students applying places it among the top 10 in the country. Two 2008 Creighton graduates are studying and conducting research overseas this fall as Fulbright Fellows.
Under the Fulbright program, about 1,600 American students teach English and conduct research in more than 125 countries throughout the world.
