Sioux City, Iowa (KTIV) - A group at Western Iowa Tech Community College are providing a public service by helping people recycle their electronics.
Dozens of people took part in this free recycling event. They brought in old televisions, video cassette recorders and computers.
There were enough items to put in two semi-trailers.
Organizer William Peutze says, "We've gotten a whole wide variety of things, and we're just helping to clean up the community. We're also helping save them a fee... to recycle these items it's something you'd normally have to pay for."
Western Iowa Tech's chapter of the International Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa hosted the event.
They say when the event started Friday morning, dozens of people were already there waiting to take part.
