PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Officials say the organizers of fishing tournaments in South Dakota should file their 2010 paperwork as soon as possible to make sure all requirements are met.
Applications for fishing tournaments and special events must be filed with Game, Fish and Parks Department at least 30 days before they're held.
Special events permits coordinator Jeanne Uecker (YOO'-kur) said some events will require a proof of insurance or a special waiver.
The 2010 application includes information such as the dates when fishing tournaments are not allowed as well as dates when salmon and walleye catch & release tournaments are restricted.
