Gen. Wesley Clark: 'We need E15 right now'

Posted:

EMMETSBURG, Iowa (KTIV) -- A retired Four Star General with the Army says if the United States had invested in ethanol and alternative energy years ago, we may not be in the midst of two wars.

In Emmetsburg, Iowa, on Tuesday, General Wesley Clark spoke about how the ethanol blend of E-15 needs to be approved.

Clark says the land in the Midwest is valuable and is an important role in reducing our dependence upon foreign oil.

He says foreign countries, who are not our allies, use our money to fight us after we buy their oil.

"So we need the policy leadership coming out of Washington. We need E15 right now, as the first step," said General Wesley Clark.

Clark says one of the next steps is to unleash the energy production potential in the Midwest.
