LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is counting on hundreds of high school students showing up for its 20th annual Math Day.
The event is designed to promote math and careers in math through the recreational and competitive activities that day.
Math Day is scheduled to begin Thursday morning with a ceremony at the Lied Center.
Soon afterward, the students will take a multiple-choice, preliminary math examination. The top 50 finishers will then take another exam. The top 10 finishers of that one will share a total of $34,000 in 4-year scholarships to UNL.
