
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Veterans, their families, and community leaders gathered in Sioux City at the Woodbury County Courthouse to honor veterans. This Veteran's Day Program is a 12 year tradition for the county. American Legion Posts from both Sioux City and Hornick, Iowa took part in the ceremony. They posted the 'colors' and had a special presentation for the 'Prison of War' and 'Missing in Action' flag Ron Kerr, American Legion Post 492, said, "This is a reminder for all of us... to spare no effort to secure the release of any American prisoners from captivity," Kerr adds... the flag is for all of the soldiers who are still unaccounted for from all of the war and conflicts involving the U-S. Wednesday is just one day veterans are recognized their service. But, Vietnam Veteran, Ralph Swain says they should be honored everyday. Ralph Swain, Vietnam Veteran, said, "The veterans who survived today... deserve the recognition and respect that this day represents."
