SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) - Formal charges are pending against a Spearfish man after a nearly six-hour standoff with law officers that closed a mobile home park.
Lawrence County Sheriff Richard Mowell says the Thursday morning standoff involved a 32-year-old man who had threatened a friend of his girlfriend. He was identified as Bryan Nicholas of Spearfish.
Authorities went to the park after residents said a couple were arguing and a gun was involved.
Nicholas was arrested on an aggravated assault charge. Mowell says other charges are pending.
