HULL, Iowa (KTIV) -- A reward is being offered in the case of nearly 4,000 pigs that suffocated on a Siouxland confinement.
Last week, someone turned off the airflow system at a confinement facility near Hull, Iowa.
3,800 pigs died, causing a financial loss of nearly a quarter million dollars to owner Todd Hasche, of Rock Rapids.
The main breakers in the building were turned off, a stand-by generator was turned off and the alarm system was disabled.
The Humane Society of the United States is offering a cash reward of up to $2,5200 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the Sioux County Sheriff's Office at 712-737-3307.
