WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) - It was an early wake-up call today for members of the Castlewood High School marching band.
The band was on the road at 3:30 a.m., bound for Chicago, where theyÂ’ll perform at the 76th annual McDonaldÂ’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Band Director Vicki Bjerke (be-YUR'-kee) calls it a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for her students.
The parade will be nationally televised on WGN between 8 and 9 a.m.
The Castlewood delegation returns home Saturday.
