LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Doors to the Governor's Mansion will swing wide Saturday as Nebraska's chief executive and his wife hold an open house for the holidays.
Gov. Dave Heineman and his wife, Sally Ganem, are inviting the public to their home. They plan to be hosts for the day.
The mansion will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 1425 H St. in Lincoln, directly south of the Capitol.
The modified Georgian colonial home was built in 1957.
It is open to public tours on most Thursdays.
Ganem's cookbook, "Inspired Recipes from Nebraska," will be on sale Saturday at the mansion. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Governor's Residence, a foundation that helps pay to update the residence and provide educational materials about the mansion to elementary schools.
