TOBIAS, Neb. (AP) - Weather permitting, congregants at a small church in southeastern Nebraska on Sunday will celebrate the return of their bell and steeple.
In July last year, high winds knocked down the bell tower and steeple at Zion Lutheran Church just east of Tobias, a town of about 150 in Saline (SAY-lean) County.
The bell survived the fall, but its cradle was damaged.
The church raised enough money for a new cradle, steeple and bell tower, as well as support work underneath.
The new steeple and bell tower are scheduled to be installed this week so the bell can resume its calls to worship.
The congregation was founded in 1879.
