BENNET, Neb. (AP) - Lancaster County authorities say the father of an 11-year-old boy was cited after the boy reported that he drove his dad and uncle to a bar and back home.
Chief Deputy Bill Jarrett said Thursday that 41-year-old Christopher Juilfs of Bennet was driving when Juilfs, his 37-year-old brother, Joe, and the boy left his home in Bennet on Saturday. They headed for the bar in Palmyra, nine miles away.
Jarrett says Juilfs pulled over after crossing a state highway and told the boy to drive.
The boy drove them to the bar, went inside, ate some french fries and drank a pop before going to a friend's house nearby.
An incident report says the men retrieved the boy a couple hours later. He drove them back home.
The boy told his mom Monday about the incident.
