SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- Flights going out of Sioux Gateway Airport will now go from four to three.
Delta Airlines announced they are cutting the 1 p.m. flight going out of Sioux City.
Siouxland Chamber of Commerce officials say it's partially because of the economy. But, they say it's also because of the buyout of Northwest Airlines by Delta.
One official says it's a step in the wrong direction. "Obviously, we would like to have more and we will strive to continue to have a flight return. So, we kind of need the community out there helping us. We need people to get on the airplanes and keep flying Sioux Gateway Airport," said Barbara Sloniker, Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.
Sloniker says it shouldn't impact the airport because there are three other available flights out of Sioux City.
