SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota Air National Guard F-16 jets flew out of Sioux Falls early Monday as the 114th Fighter Wing wrapped up a deployment to southwest Asia.
About 280 airmen will spend a couple of months on duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
They left in three groups, the largest of which had a little trouble getting out of the state. The group of 180 airmen left on Friday, after mechanical issues and weather problems kept them from leaving Wednesday and Thursday.
Wing Commander Russ Walz says it has been a crazy week.
