LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A new report suggests Nebraska drivers enjoyed the biggest decrease in auto insurance rates of any state in the nation.
Insurance.com, which sells coverage online, recently released its annual rate-watch report based on online insurance quotes.
The report shows that the average annual auto insurance premium in Nebraska fell 12.7 percent in 2009 to $1,364.
The nationwide average insurance rate also fell, but not nearly as much as Nebraska's. The average national rate declined 3.5 percent to $1,803 annually.
Overall, auto insurance rates held steady or declined in 33 states.
The biggest increase was reported in Colorado where rates grew 4.5 percent to an average rate of $1,545 annually.
