WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) - The Salvation Army at Watertown has put its bells and red kettles away for the year.
Lieutenant Tony Bowers says the organization surpassed its $73,000 fundraising goal this Christmas season and decided to end its bell-ringing campaign a few days early.
Bowers says money is still coming in, and the final total is still being added up.
All of the money remains in the Watertown area to provide food and clothing for those who need it.
