LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Navy's Blue Angels aerial exhibition team has agreed to join the Nebraska Air National Guard's air show in 2011 and help the Guard mark an eventful day in U.S. history: Sept. 11, 2001.
On that date, terrorists commandeered commercial jetliners and flew them into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York City.
The Nebraska Guard's 155th Air Refueling Wing, based at the Lincoln Airport, was called on to help keep combat air patrols aloft after the attacks.
The air show is scheduled for Sept. 10-11.
