SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A woman severely burned in an apartment fire in Sioux Falls on Wednesday has died.
Police say 46-year-old Diane Smith-Avant suffered third-degree burns on 85 percent of her body. She was flown to a Minneapolis burn center, where she died Thursday night.
Authorities say the fire was caused by careless use of a cigarette.
