Sioux City police will verify legality of pit bulls

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - The Sioux City Police Department will start helping Animal Control verify whether owners of pit bulls are following the city's vicious dog ordinance.

This will be done by asking previously registered pitbull owners to determine the current status of their animals.

There are about 100 formally registered animals.
