Federal funding will help homeless programs in Siouxland

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) --- Washington is sending money to Siouxland to help the homeless.

Through a grant program from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than $500,000 is coming to Sioux City.

The Center for Siouxland will receive $128,000 to fund Bridges West Transitional Housing Program.

The Crittenton Center's "Project Life" will receive $184,000.

The City of Sioux City will receive $113,000 for "HUD" Homeless Transportation, and the Community Action Agency of Siouxland will receive $137,000 for the Crossroads Shelter.

In All, Iowa is receiving more than $7.8 million in homeless assistance from Washington.
