SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) - Snowy weather forced Texas congressman Ron Paul to cancel a planned speech Monday morning in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Texas Congressman was set to speak at Dordt College as part of the "Family Leader's" presidential lecture series. But, because of the snow, his plane was not able to land at airports in either Le Mars or Orange City.
"Family Leader" director of marketing and public outreach Julie Summa says the organization has asked Paul to come back to Dordt on April 11th. They are also looking at other national political figures to fill the bill. That's the date of the "Family Leader's" next installment of its lecture series.
It's also the day Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was scheduled to speak at Dordt. But, because of a "scheduling conflict", a "Family Leader" spokesman says Bachmann won't be able to make the stop in Sioux Center. She will still travel to Pella and Iowa City for the other two lecture tour stops.
