WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nebraska's Sen. Mike Johanns has left a hospital following the surgical removal of part of his left lung.
A news release from the Republican senator's office said he left the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., on Friday.
He plans on being back to work March 16.
The 58-year-old Johanns had surgery Tuesday following the discovery of a spot on the lung. Doctors say they found no signs of cancer.
He is in his first term replacing fellow Republican Chuck Hagel, who opted not to seek a third term.
