Iowa State forward Georges Niang will attend the Lebron James Skills Academy in Las Vegas. Niang was one of 30 collegiate players invited to this year's camp.The junior to be will be they Cyclone's leading returning scorer after averaging 16.7 points per game last season. Iowa State All-American men’s basketball player Melvin Ejim was named ISU’s Male Athlete of the Year for 2013-14. Ejim, an All-American by five organizations, was the Big 12’s Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year after helping the Cyclones to a 28-8 record, a Big 12 Tournament championship and an appearance in the Sweet 16. ISU's Thomas arrested for OWI

Iowa State freshman Matt Thomas was arrested by Ames police late Friday night and was charged with operating while intoxicated. Thomas is the second ISU player to be charged this spring. Ames police arrested Abdel Nader in April. He has since pleaded not guilty and will have a court date next month.Thomas, 19, issued an apology on Saturday via his twitter account. Nobody won the annual Cy-Hawk softball game on Wednesday. Darkness forced an end to the contest with the Hawkeyes and Cyclones tied at 6 apiece. Ejim named Big 12 basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year

The accolades keep on piling up for Cyclone senior Melvin Ejim. On Tuesday, Ejim was named the Big 12's basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2nd time in his career.This adds to a laundry list of honors this season including All-American nods from 5 different organizations on top of his Big 12 Player of the Year award.Ejim holds a 3.7 GPA. On the court he averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in helping lead Iowa State to the Sweet 16 and a Big 12 tournament title. More>>
