Gov. Heineman seeks disaster relief following June storms

Governor Dave Heineman submitted a request Tuesday for a disaster declaration from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help Nebraskans in five northeast Nebraska counties who were impacted by severe storms in June.

Federal assistance for disaster areas in northeast Nebraska

Governor Dave Heineman says President Obama has supported his request for a federal disaster declaration, in Nebraska.Those counties include Cedar, Cuming, Dakota, Thurston, Wayne and one of the hardest hit, Stanton County.Those were some of the counties receiving damage between June 14 and 21 when several tornadoes came through Siouxland.Public assistance can help with removing debris, taking emergency protective measures and repairing or replacing damaged infrastructure More>>
