Students clean up for a good cause

Sioux City, IOWA (KTIV) - A challenge is out there between area high school students.

Who can get the most blood donars to donate blood?

Friday, Bishop Heelan student council held a blood drive, and a car wash.

Students washed blood donors' cars while they donated their valuable blood.

Students say this is a good way to give back to the community.

"You never know when you need blood, you maybe saving your neighbor or your best friend or something and it's a good way to help and you always need blood and it's a good way to help the community and give thanks, says Haley Galvin, Bishop Heelan Student.

If you missed today's event, students from other schools will be holding their own blood drives the next few Fridays.

The school students who register the most donors gets a cash prize for their group.
