NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) -- Authorities say a Norfolk driver was killed and his wife was critically injured in a collision.
The Nebraska State Patrol says 89-year-old Keith Jewell was headed south Saturday afternoon when he pulled into an intersection at U.S. Highway 275 and collided with a westbound minivan.
The patrol says Jewell died later at a Norfolk hospital. His wife, 84-year-old Anna Jewel, was flown to a Sioux City, Iowa, hospital in critical condition.
The minivan driver, 26-year-old Lee Burenheide of Tilden, was taken to a Norfolk hospital in stable condition.
The patrol says Keith Jewell was not wearing a seat belt; his wife and Burenheide were wearing them.
